From February 7th to February 12th, two classes (3ec and 3eD) went to England with five of their teachers (Mrs Berthier, Mr Lecompte, Mrs Luthereau, Mr Rieu and Mrs Thivolle). Everything went extremely well except on the last day in England when the musical Billy Elliot, which we were supposed to attend, was cancelled.
Here are some testimonies written by 3eC pupils about this trip. and some photos as well
School trip 2016 Memories
In my trip to England,
I have loved to visit Stratford, to go to Poundland for shopping, and also to visit the Oxford Castle.
I’ve loved Stratford because it’s a really pretty city, and I liked the houses.
Then, I’ve loved Poundland because it was fun to go to this shop for shopping !
And, finally, I’ve loved the Oxford Castle, because I love castles and also for the visit by the guide, I thought that was really cool !
I’ve hated to lose Gégé, it was not very cool...but very cold !
And I didn’t like the Armaury Centre (for the breakfast, the moist bed sheets...)
And, lastly, I’ve liked my family, because there was a dog (Cadburry, a Labrador), and because of our long discussion with them on the wednesday...
I think that we could have a better family but also a worse family...So, I think my family was cool :)
Lucie
My best souvenir during the trip in England was the British museum because I liked the treasure hunt and the big covered room.
I really liked Indiana Jones’s Crystal skull and the divinity Xiuhcoalt.
I appreciated the Egyptian’s room and the Aztec’s room.
I regretted that we couldn’t visit all the museum.
Léo
This trip to England was fun .It allowed me to see my friends differently, and for most of them appreciate them even more. But above all, this trip allowed me to visit some of the most beautiful cities England, as well as gain a true overview of England, and this, by visiting towns and monuments typical of England. But also, thanks to the stay in the English family, I was able to discover the English way of life, I have all much appreciated. This trip also gave me the opportunity to spend a great time and so brought me laughter aplenty. I found visits very interesting and adapted to students, though a bit too short (especially for the Natural History Museum and the British Museum) .I found the monuments that I could see were beautiful .I will also certainly remember Gerard, our main driver, with whom we had an in-depth tour of London and, thanks to wom, in the end, we laughed a lot. My best memory will probably remain the image of Big Ben, which I found amazing.
Elie
Before departure, I imagined this trip in school atmosphere, really strict. But after somes hours I’ve seen the teachers’ behaviour was cool and a little relaxed (not a lot, still). The family in England was very welcoming, Lisa and Kevin made us feel at home, and it showed they were used to welcome students in their house.
It was a pity on 6 days we made 4 days of bus, too long for me.
My best memory of this trip it’s on the Thursday, when we walk to the Globe and then to Buckingham Palace, I’ve found this walk very funny, and I found too in this moment there was the best atmosphere, with my friends and the teachers.
To conclude, I really enjoyed this trip, I’ve learned some words in English, and this is cool !
Simon
During this trip to England what I shall remember the most is London by night because we could see the monument and I found this great .
Clément
I loved my trip to London. It really is a beautiful city. I enjoyed visiting Oxford. It was all well received in our families. We had a lot of freedom in the streets like Oxford. I thoroughly loved to travel, I would keep a great memory for the rest of my life.
Guillaume
This trip was wonderful ! I’ve loved everything I’ve seen. I was surprised by the first day : I thought that the time spent in the bus would seem longer and it did not . The two days spent in London were incredible ! Museums were so big and so interesting, full of historical artefacts. I would have liked more time to visit these places, to saw more things and to read their stories. Even if we’ve walked a lot , our tour was great because we’ve seen a lot of monuments like Big Ben, Westminster Abbey or Saint Paul’s Cathedral and it were things I really wanted to see in London so I was happy.
My favorite town we’ve visited is Stratford. The atmosphere of this city is almost magic. It was a very cold but very cool day. The two Shakespeares were very funny and very kind. I’ve laughed a lot when all of swans, oaks and ducks came out of he Avon to pick up our lunch.
Oxford was also a beautiful city but I’ve expected better of it. I’ve not liked the track game but our guide in the tower, Isaac, was a very fun and cool pirate.
Our family was very kind. At the beginning they didn’t speak a lot. But, when we asked them some questions, we began a very long discussion and learnt a lot of things about them. So, we were glad to have talked with them. I was very sad and when Billy Elliot was cancelled and I was also disappointed of the visit of the Globe. Because it was very fast and we knew all the things our guide said well it wasn’t so informative. Otherwise, it was one of the best trip of my life and I think I will study in an English-speaking country later. Thank you so much !
Nina
I loved this trip to England, it was so fantastic and very instructive for me. The museums were very good ! I liked my family and my room, but the only problem was that we didn’t have an internet access contrary to the others’ families. The visits were fun but the teachers lacked organization like when we lost the bus. This trip taught me many things of the country and the language. I didn’t appreciate the visits related to Shakespeare because we have already worked on Shakespeare’s life. I was sad to learn that the Billy Elliot’s musical was cancelled. The walk along the Thames was very good, I liked seeing the monuments in the walk particularly Big Ben and the London Eye. The last day was not really fun, the journey back was so long and boring. But, I loved this trip !

My trip’s conclusion
This trip was fun because we laughed a lot and it was a chance to all get together and have a good time. We visited beautiful things and we learned a lot about English culture through this journey. There were perhaps a lot of bus, and not enough time to visit the museums, but these visits still pleased me. We had the opportunity to see the London Eye, Big Ben, to buy souvenirs,... We were free and we could see the teachers outside the classroom ! I have very positive memories of this trip and I do it again without hesitation.

My trip to England
The trip in a bus was long but it was cool because there were good vibes ! The first night in the NORD was bad for me because i didn’t have enough food and i was sick.
The first day in London was so good but i would have liked to see downtown. It’s a pity because we didn’t have lot of time to visit the museum. And it is necessary to buy a GPS for Gégé !!!!
My family was cool because the food was very good (pizza, fish and chips, gratin ;) but we didn’t have lot of food : this was a problem ! They were very helpful.
The visit of Stratford was cool but it was difficult to understand the guide.
The visit of oxford was cool but was long. The castle was big and the guide articulated !
The second days in London was very cool but we didn’t have the time to visit the Bristish museum : it was very big. The fish and chips was good but I din’t have once again a lot of food (I am a big eater).
The visit of the globe was very short. The walk along the Thames was cool.
The trip in England was very incredible
Mathieu
I really enjoyed this stay in England !
I have learned many things there, and I think I’ve improved my English,
thanks to Maggie, teachers and all guides !
The moment that I most appreciated on this trip was the shopping time and relaxation with the girls, and I also liked the British museum (third picture). It was really great, very interesting and diverse, but we did’nt have enough time to visit everything, which was a pity…
I laughed a lot during the visit of Stratford Upon Avon with « Shakespeare », and I was impressed to see his house. (first picture) Then, The Globe was big and it was amazing !! (second picture)
The fish & chips was excellent, meals in families even more ! Maggie was adorable ; her house looked like a doll’s house !
I will keep very good memories, but I think that my worst memory was during the first day in England, when we waited for the bus for more than an hour in the rain, the wind and the cold …
The end of the journey was very tiring, and I slept very badly in the car..
The ferry also remains one of my most beautiful memory, because I love
to take the boat ! I was so excited that I haven’t slept on the ferry.
Finally, when we arrived in Crest, I was sad to leave, I wanted to go back !!

My Trip To England
*MY FAMILY*
In the week, I lived with a couple ( Sue and Dave) and with Zoé, Yaelle and Erina. When we went down the bus, we saw only Dave. He was smiling all the time. We went to the house and spoke all the drive about many things (our school, our friends, Dave’s job,...). After, we met Sue. She looks very kind, cute and funny. We visited the house together : I shared my room with Zoé (we had a private bathroom). All the rooms were really big and well decorated, particulary the kitchen and Dave and Sue’s bedroom.
All the trip, Sue cooked us very very very good meals : two English breakfast, a fish and chips, some pizzas and pasta,... They didn’t eat at the same time but were not far for if we had a problem. Our packed lunch were simple but good. She was really thoughtful and she asked me a lot of question about my health .
On the morning, Dave drove us to the bus and spoke with the girls and me. When we asked them the different questions (from « my trip to England ») they answered with simple words and helped us if we didn’t understand. On Thursday morning, we said goodbye and thanks to Sue and Dave and we promised to write them a letter some months after.
*THE BUS *
Contrary to what I thought, the bus travel wasn’t very long. At six a.m we went and we arrived approximately at six p.m. In the bus we slept, chatted, listened to music, sang, whached movies. We did a break every two hours, to eat, drink and go to the toilets. The journey back was a little bit longer because it was during the night. We took the bus at eleven p.m , the ferry at one or two a.m and the bus another time two hours after. We arrived finally at five p.m. The bus was comfortable but not extraordinary so it was very cool to sleep in a real bed the first day.
* THE VISITS *
The visits were also really good. I loved the three cities we visited (London, Stratford and Oxford) but I think I preferred Stratford and London. Stratford is really beautiful and cosy and London is a beautiful city with a lot of monuments (we saw the Globe Theatre, the British Museum, the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, London Eye, Buckingam Palace, Big Ben, House of Parliament,...). I loved a lot The Globe and the British museum, the two visits were interesting and the buildings splendid . I loved a little bit less the Natural History Museum because we didn’t have the time to visit all the room we wanted.
In Oxford we spoke to some students : Zoé and I spoke with a really nice girl and a kind man. It was pleasant to speak with them.
We also visited the Oxford Castle, and saw the city from the top of the prison (pictures below).
In Stratford I adored the Tudor Museum, we learnt a lot of things about the Plague, Elizabeth 1st,... We also saw Shakespeare’s grave in Holy Trinity Church and many buildings he lived in or had a link with him . I liked to write a letter to a teacher, it was funny and the ones who received it are happy.
In London, we walked all the time in the city and saw a lot of famous place (Covent Garden,...). We were supposed to see Billy Eliott Musical but finally the representation was cancelled because of a pipe problem . I was a little bit disappointed, but we did some others things.
*Other Things*
Some other things were really good. First, the teachers were relaxed, funny and kind and we spoke differently with them. Second thing, the atmosphere was very cool : we laughed a lot because we really know all the people (more than if we had been with 4eme or 5ème)
Finally, the organization was good (except the problem with the bus), so I thank you Mrs Luthereau, Mrs Thivolle and all the others people who helped.

It was a great trip.
England is a beautiful country.
Our family was really great, their house was very nice and very large.
the visit of some museums were too short ...
I’m sad because we have not seen Billy Elliot.
thank you very much for giving us the chance to visit england.
I do not know what to say, but everything was well , and we had great fun.

My trip to England !
Let’s talk about our trip to England ! It was a perfect trip, and the first time for me. Really, this trip was one of my best memory of my life. It was a child dream, I remember, when I was 8-9, my dream was to travel to England, to visit London and others cities, beautiful cities. We visited, Stratford, Shakespeare’s city ; Oxford, a beautiful university town, and London, the best city ever. I’m very thankful to my teachers who organized this trip, thank you so much ! It was tiresome, but so magnificent. England, I miss you ! I loved English people, they are so classy, examples for me, and Iike English men, haha !
My worst souvenir was when Billy Elliot was canceled, we were so disappointed... but it’s not our fault, there was a problem in the street.
The visits in museums were cool, but we never had the time to watch and enjoy because we had game and missions.
My best souvenir, omg, it was the day in London. London is so beautiful, like I say, it was a dream, and my dream came true. We have fun, we laughed a lot, it was just perfect. I also liked others cities because Oxford is a dream city, and Stratford was very interesting because SHAKESPEARE LIVED THERE !
Emmanuelle
During this trip inEngland I loved strolling along the Thames in London with animation around us. The travel was a long was very tired. The family was very nice with me but the pack lunch was not very good. In conclusion this travel was great even if it’s a pity that the musical Billy Elliot was canceled.

My trip to England
The day of departure, we had to meet at 6.00 a.m. in front of the college .We put the baggage in the baggage hold and we chose our place in the bus . We left at 6.30 a.m for Calais. During the trip we slept, we listened to music with the speakers and we talked between us. We have stopped every two hours in resting areas. At 9.30 we stopped to take breakfast that we have brought. At 10.00 a.m we went back to the bus to go to Calais. At 1.00 p.m we stopped for our picnic, and at 2.00 p.m. we went back on the road. We watched a DVD in English. We arrived at 7.00 p.m in Hergnies youth center, I was in a room with Margaux, Lysie , Phébé , Emmanuelle . The next day we took a bus to go to the Shuttle. At 11.00 a.m we arrived in the Shuttle, we had lunch in the Train. the journey lasted 1 hour and after we were in ENGLAND ! As there was a time difference we arrived in England at 12.00 p.m and we arrived at 3.h30 p.m in London we visited a natural history museum and at 5.00 p.m we went back in the bus to see our family. We arrived in our family at 7.30 p.m ; we were very tired and thrilled to meet our family. My family was very nice there was a girl Claire and a dog Bumble her flat was a little bit small but it was okay. In the room I was with Margaux we slept in bed for 2 people. We ate a pizza and chips with some orange juice and after Claire told us that if we wanted to take a shower we could have one. We slept at 10.00 p.m because we werevery tired. The next day we went to Stratford to visit the house and city of Shakespeare. In the morning we had workshops to learn about the torture, the theatre and the story of Shakespeare with a very interesting guide. At 12.00 we ate on the edge of lake with goose and pigeon at 2.00 p.m we had an appointment with a guide to visit the city. The guide was disguised in Shakespeare. The visit was interesting but it was very cold outside at 3.00 p.m we had finished the visit and the teachers allowed us of shopping in the city and we were to do some missions. At 5.00 p.m we rejoined the teacher and we went back in the bus to go to family .We ate a potato with beans and we took a shower and after we slept. On the next day we went to Oxford for a treasure hunt in the city. It was very cool ! We ate in front of the former prison in Oxford. The afternoon we visited the prison in groups with a guide. After we visited the prison we went shopping in oxford in the shopping center. We came back to the bus and came back at our family’s and we told Claire about our days and after we played with the dog bumble : it was the last evening in England. we offered Claire a present to thank her for her warm welcoming . We said good bye and we went to the bus in the morning to go to London ! We arrived in London at 10. 00 a.m we visited the British museum and after we ate a fish and chips in a pub. In the afternoon we walked for 45mins to visit Shakespeare’s theatre, the Globe. My best memories it is after the visit of the Globe we walked in London to go to the musical Billy Elliot. We saw Big ben, London bridges and London Eye. Finally the performance of Billy Elliot was cancelled because there was a water damage so we searched for a pub in which to wait for the bus . We went back to the bus around midnight to come back to France. We took a ferry to cross the Channel at 2.00 a.m we arrived in France at 4.30 a.m and we took the bus to return in our family we arrived at 5.30p.m in front of college Revesz-long

The best moment of my trip to england
The moment I preferred during my trip to England was when Teo, Elie, Leo and I went to our family’s. A lady came to us, her name was Jill. When we arrived at home, I saw the English style of the house. A dog , whose name was Mice, was waiting for us in Jill’s house. Jill made us visit her house and after we came back to unpack our luggage. At 8.00 p.m. we had diner and noticed a lot of differences with French diner (food, number of cutleries...). Same things about the shower ! At any rate, this trip was very useful for me and I learned lot of things. Thank you !!!!
Louis
I preferred the visit of the prison of Oxford because I liked Mathilda’s story but she was a different prisonner. I adored to know history of prisoners of England and their customs are beautiful and original.
I like the stories of the crypt and ghosts because they were very important and the sight of Oxford was a good surprise but the visit was short-lasting.
I liked also the visit of Shakespeare’s Globe and passing in front of a Big Ben.
Eryna
Normally I don’t like bus but during this trip I liked bus because we went to England.
My family was very nice. I liked the visits of London, Oxford and Stratford. I liked boat and train. I loved Big ben and London Eye.
Lucas B.
What I will remember the most will be the evenings in our family. When we were very tired, after visits, we returned in our families for the evening. But we spoke a lot with Rosemary and we played in our bedroom : we were very happy. But I have loved the visit of London too : big Ben, the London Eye, the fish’nchips. But I was very sad not to go to Billy Elliot musical. I was very disappointed by this.
Contrary to this, there were two visits which I disliked. It was the visit of the Globe because I didn’t understand the man. And also the visit of Stratford museum and the visit of the city with Shakespeare. It was very long and a bit boring.
Noémie
In this trip I liked the stay in the family with Elie, Léo and Louis. I liked also the museums, the days in Oxford and London.
Téo
I loved this trip in general because the activities were very cool and the family was nice and it was just great but there is just the bus which was long and boring but my favorite remains the British Museum.
Lucas C.
I loved this trip to England because I was with friends and that there was a great understanding between us. I really enjoyed the time in the family and to see the lives of the English family and it allowed me to hear the person speak English all day. Great memories with friends. And we learnt many things.

MY TRIP TO ENGLAND
I went on a trip to London from 7 to 12 February 2016 with the school, I loved this trip. Having the chance to visit a country I had never had the opportunity to see with fantastic people was magic ! After all those years to study this language I could finally see the real country that made me dream !
We spent 2 days in London, the day of departure and the day of return, we also spent one day in Stratford , three nights in Shipston on Stour where we had our families and a day in Oxford ! During this trip we had the opportunity to visit museums, for my part, I visited the Science Museum, I loved this museum, it was really my favorite, I really found it entertaining and captivating. I am very interested in the subject. There were activities everywhere, and interesting things everywhere. The only downside is the fact that we have certainly not had enough time, too bad. But in any case it was really great ! I also visited the British Museum, I loved this museum, it was totally different from the science museum, it was "more serious" it was quieter and more in the genre classic museum with its shape, but I found nevertheless that there were great places. I loved the treasure hunt we did in the museum, it helped make us love even more this museum. Maybe also a little lack of time but less than science museum.
During this trip, I was in the family of Maggie PADLEY with Eloah, Lysie and Emmanuelle in Shipston on Stour. We were hugely lucky to stay in this family, Maggie was a lady of extraordinary kindness. She welcomed us very nicely and put us immediately at ease, we managed to talk a lot even though we were tired from the trip. She has a beautiful home !! We were sleeping in two different rooms, upstairs , on the right for Lysie and Emmanuelle, and on the left for Eloah and me. Maggie cooks divinely ! It was one of the only family who prepared a delicious picnic ! Her house is super cute, typically English ! With carpeted floors !! In any case, I confirm that it is the best ! Thank you for putting us in the best host family in England for this trip !!
Contact with people helped me improve my English, talking with family, and the quiz tours of Oxford when we had to request information from people for example. In truth all help me, the context of London itself has helped me see the people speaking this language, I automatically tried to translate everything people said. Even to automatically translate the posters, ..., helped me a lot. A very rewarding trip for me.
The walk along the Thames was really my best memory, finally see a true all these monuments that we usually see in this picture was really great ! My worst memory was surely looking for the bus in the cold on the first day ... Where the ferry as I am terrified of boats ... I’m sick in there !!
